GEX ANIMAL MASSAGE THERAPY
DESTINYS STIFLE INJURY...
Destiny unfortunately sustained a stifle injury at the start of 2023. She was off work for approximately 6 months where massage helped to preserve her muscle to avoid loosing it. As the saying goes... you either use it or loose it! We managed to rehabilitate her to make a full recovery and continue to help support the joint through regular stretching and frequent massage sessions to keep the muscles surrounding the stifle in tip top condition and prevent re-injury. She often gets tight around her poll, lower neck muscles, tricep muscles and back muscles but with regular massage it helps to keep her feeling happy and comfortable allowing her to perform her best!

HELPING THE OLDIES...
The lovely Lily is well and truly into her late twenties and starting to slow down in life but doing so incredibly well. We all moan about the challenges that come with ageing but there is nothing we can do about this natural process in life and neither can your animal! As you get older your body begins to change e.g. fascia has less elasticity and cell metabolism begins to slow down which can influence muscle mass and strength. Massage plays a vital role in making the most out of the situation to help your animal feel more comfortable which improves quality of life. It is always so lovely to see the animals relax into the session and overall boost their mood by the ned of it.

RECTIFYING COMPENSATORY ISSUES...
Henrys owners reached out to me when they started to notice some stiffness in his hind end. Once the initial assessment was complete it was noticeable that Henry had a shuffling gait which had caused tension to creep up into his back muscles. Massage helped to improve tissue states around the hip joint and remove any trigger points found along his back which immediately caused an improvement in his gait. Whilst some effects of massage show immediate improvement, a course of 3-5 sessions would be suitable to really start to see changes occur. You just have to trust the process a little!
