EQUINE TREATMENT
Equine physiotherapy is a powerful tool to help improve performance, reduce injury risk and can aid in the prognosis of injuries. With physiotherapy being a great addition to the multidisciplinary approach you use to maintain your horses welfare alongside vets, farriery and dentistry.
The beauty of the equestrian world is that every horse & rider as a pair have different goals they wish to achieve from working up the competition levels within a discipline or bringing your horse back into work to become a happy hacker.
Regular physiotherapy sessions can help detect the onset of conditions alongside typical indicators such as changes in behaviour, changes in movement, struggling to get the correct canter lead, refusing jumps, limited movement during lateral exercises, bucking, rearing, napping, head tilting and difficulty mounting or tacking up etc.
CONDITIONS BENEFITED BY PHYSIOTHERAPY:
- Vertebral pain (including back & neck)
- Sacroiliac joint issues
- Osteoarthritis
- Overriding or impinging dorsal spinous processes (kissing spine)
- Bone spavin
- Muscle wastage

NEW INTEGRATION WITHIN TREATMENTS:
FASCIAL EDGE TOOL

This simple but powerful tool works on fascia, which is the largest sensory organ in the body which surrounds all connective tissue.
This tool helps apply a pressure wave which runs deep within the fascia to help release it to help reduce/prevent dysfunction. It helps to break up fibrosis (scar tissue), relieve trigger points (muscle spasm), enhance circulation & improve lymphatic drainage. Fascial release is a gentle technique which is usually well tolerated by horses and therefore very effective for horses which prefer a lighter touch or are a bit anxious.
